Winnipeg police look for 11-year-old girl missing for almost a week

Winnipeg police are looking for an 11-year-old girl who they say went missing in Winnipeg last week and who is known to frequent the city’s downtown and the North End.

Bella Cook, 11, was last seen at around 9 p.m. on Friday near Edderton Avenue and Derek Street, police said in a news release Wednesday.

The release said Cook has not been seen or heard since Friday, and police are concerned for her well-being.

The 11-year-old is known to frequent Winnipeg’s North End and the area around the former Bay store downtown.

Police said Cook is five feet, two inches tall, has a thin build, and has medium-length black hair, usually worn in a ponytail.

Cook was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, red pants with white lines down the side, white sneakers, and a black baseball cap, while carrying a floral-patterned duff.

Anyone with information about Cook’s whereabouts is asked to contact Winnipeg police’s missing persons unit at 204-986-6250.
