2 youth arrested in September St. Boniface shooting, Winnipeg police say

Police have arrested two Winnipeg youth in connection with the Sept. 1 shooting of a 30-year-old man in the city’s St. Boniface neighbourhood.

The three people argued between the two balconies of their short-term rental units before the shooting, police said in a news release Wednesday.

After the argument grew, the two teens allegedly shot the man on his balcony while they were standing outside of the building with covered faces.

A 17-year-old was arrested on Notre Dame Avenue between Isabel and Sherbrook streets on Sept. 11.

On Oct. 12, an 18-year-old was arrested for the shooting during an unrelated incident, police said.

Both were charged with aggravated assault, disguise with intent and firearms-related offences and held in custody.
