3rd teen boy charged in homicide investigation in Swan River

Another teenaged boy has been charged in connection with the death of a Brandon man whose body was found in a western Manitoba park last week.

The 15-year-old was arrested Tuesday and charged with manslaughter.

Two 16-year-old boys are also in custody. One was was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on Saturday, and the other was arrested Monday and also charged with second-degree murder.

All three are from Swan River, about 270 kilometres north of Brandon.

The victim, whose identity hasn’t been released by police, was found unresponsive at Legion Park in Swan River around 11 p.m. on Nov. 1.

He had suffered “obvious injuries” and was pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said in a news release.

The RCMP believe the boys and man were known to each other, and say the assault was not a random attack.
