Six train cars come off the tracks northwest of Portage la Prairie
Six cars came off the tracks and Highway 16 was closed after a train derailment early Monday morning.
Around 4:15 a.m., CN Police notified the Manitoba RCMP of a train derailment at Highway 16 and Road 45 W, just northwest of Portage la Prairie.
Six of the train cars came completely off the tracks. RCMP said none of the downed cars had dangerous goods, and no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for CN said one crossing is impacted from the derailment. They noted more information will be shared when it becomes available.
CN Police are investigating.
