28-year-old dead after highway crash in RM of Alonsa: Manitoba RCMP
A 28-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle highway crash in western Manitoba earlier this month.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP officers were called to a crash on July 6 on Highway 68, near Road 144N in the rural municipality of Alonsa, west of Lake Manitoba.
RCMP say a pickup truck driving eastbound on the highway crossed the centre line and crashed with a westbound SUV.
Civilians who came across the crash stopped to help the injured drivers, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.
The 28-year-old, a Ste. Rose du Lac man who was driving the truck, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
RCMP said he died from his injuries in hospital on July 19.
The driver of the SUV, a 51-year-old man from Winnipeg, was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said.
