Missing man with dementia last seen leaving Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre, police say

Winnipeg police are asking for help to find a missing man who lives with dementia.

Harvey James Bear, 81, was last seen leaving the Health Sciences Centre on foot around 6 p.m. on Saturday, police said in a news release.

Police said they are concerned for Bear’s wellbeing. 

Bear is described as six feet tall with salt-and-pepper coloured hair. Police said he was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket, black jeans and black runners, and may also be wearing a black hat.

Bear lives in the Fort Alexander area of Manitoba, the release said, but he used to live in Winnipeg.

Anyone with information about where he is should call 911 if the matter is an emergency, the release said, or the Winnipeg Police Service’s non-emergency line at 204-986-6222.
