Section of Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg blocked to traffic while police investigate shooting

Winnipeg police have blocked off a section of a street in the city’s north end to investigate a shooting, according to a WPS duty officer.

Selkirk Avenue, between Aikins and Robinson streets, near Holy Ghost School, will be closed to traffic in both directions until further notice, the duty officer said.

That section of the street is closed so police can investigate a shooting that took place in the vicinity, according to police.

CBC News received an email from the duty officer about the shooting at 7:40 p.m. Monday.

The officer said the shooting had just occurred.
