St. Boniface University evacuated due to suspicious package

Manitoba’s only French-language university was evacuated on Thursday morning after police learned of a suspicious package at the campus.

Police were called about a suspicious package at Winnipeg’s St. Boniface University shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday, they said.

The school’s buildings were evacuated and a police bomb squad is there, police said.

Police did not say how long they will be at the school or the nature of the package.

All Thursday classes are cancelled, the university told Radio-Canada.
