Strong northwest winds, gusting up to 90 km/h, are expected in Churchill beginning Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada has issued a warning for the area, saying damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur.

Utility outages may also occur, the weather agency’s warning states.

The strongest winds are expected to gradually ease on Wednesday evening.
