Winnipeg police find vehicle believed to be connected to abduction, death of Ontario man
Police have found a vehicle believed to be connected in the abduction and death of a 22-year-old Ontario man in Winnipeg.
Officers asked for the public’s help to find a black 2018 Honda Civic Touring in connection with the investigation into the death of Zeyad Shammo, police previously said.
The vehicle has since been located, police said in a news release Friday.
The 22-year-old Ontario man was abducted in Winnipeg the day before he was reported missing on Sept. 1, police have said.
Shammo’s death is being investigated as a homicide, and police said two people who knew him were charged earlier this week.
Sonny Balemba and Robert James Chaykowski, both 26-year-olds from Winnipeg, have been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion.
