Winnipeg police search for 3 accused in stabbing, robbery on transit bus
Winnipeg police are looking for three people accused of robbing and stabbing a mother and daughter on Monday evening.
Police were called to a Winnipeg transit bus near Portage Avenue and Valour Road at 6:15 p.m., where a 40-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter had been stabbed, police said in a news release on Thursday.
The three people got in an unprovoked argument with the mother and daughter, which escalated, police said.
The teen and her mom were taken to hospital, where they were treated and released.
They were also robbed of their personal belongings, police said.
Police describe the accused who was carrying an edged weapon as an Indigenous woman in her 20s. She is approximately five feet, one inch tall with a medium build and was wearing glasses.
The other two accused were female youth wearing all dark clothing.
The major crimes unit is investigating and trying to get a clearer description of the individuals. No arrests have been made.
