WINNIPEG — Chris Mueller scored the winner with 25 second left to play in the third period as the Toronto Marlies edged the Manitoba Moose 3-2 on Friday in American Hockey League action.
Dmytro Timashov and Adam Brooks both had power-play goals as Toronto (49-18-2), the AHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs, won its third straight. Calvin Pickard made 25 saves for the win.
Sami Niku and Brody Sutter supplied the offence for Manitoba (39-23-8), the minor league club for the Winnipeg Jets. Michael Hutchinson stopped 25 shots.
The Marlies went 2 for 5 on the power play and the Moose were 1 for 3.
Manitoba has dropped four in a row.
