Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Alfred Avenue and Buckingham Road

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:47 p.m. on September 13, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant two-storey house in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive attack. The fire was knocked down at 6:53 p.m.

A search of the structure was completed and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time but the house had damage from a previous fire.

At 7:40 p.m. on September 13, 2020, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in detached garage in the 700 block of Buckingham Road. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered a well-involved fire with heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.

An offensive attack was launched and the fire was knocked down by 8:09 p.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
