At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside of the building. They used a Flameguard X-Tinguish Fire Suppression Tool, which can significantly reduce temperatures, prevent flashovers, and disrupt fire spread in a confined space. Then, they extinguished the fire. It was under control at 2:49 p.m.

Firefighters searched the building to confirm there was no one inside. There were no injuries. Students at a school nearby temporarily sheltered inside the school out of concern for air quality as a result of smoke.

No damage estimates are available, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
