Missing northern Manitoba man found dead in river

A 44-year-old man from Norway House, last seen June 29 in the northern Manitoba community, has been found dead in a nearby river.

RCMP say Keith Shannon Wilson’s body was located in the Jack River around 6 p.m. on July 12 — the day after he was reported missing to police.

His body was found by community members from Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation and Cross Lake, who were searing the area with RCMP members.

An autopsy was conducted to confirm the body was that of Wilson, police said in a news release on Friday.

Police have not said if his death is suspicious, but say the investigation is ongoing.
