Provincial offices in downtown Winnipeg building to remain closed after flooding

The Manitoba government says its offices in a downtown Winnipeg building that closed last week due to flooding will remain shut, but has in the meantime moved some of its services elsewhere.

The province said in a news release Friday the Manitoba Housing applications and payments office has relocated from its 352 Donald St. location and is open to the public at 114 Garry St. in Winnipeg until further notice.

People can also call the Housing communications centre at 204-945-4663 or 1-800-661-4663.

In-person services for the Manitoba Justice maintenance enforcement program, including in-person payments, are affected. The province is advising the public that to make payments or get information about payment options they should visit their website or call 204-945-7133.

In-person services for family resolution, including child support, are also affected, according to the province. For more information about accessing services people should visit the province’s website

The offices, housed in the Canada Building on Donald just north of Ellice Avenue have been closed since July 17 because of the flooding.

The building will remain closed until further notice and the public is asked to call or check online before attending in person, the province said.
