28-year-old man dead after being struck by vehicle on Pembina Highway early Saturday

A 28-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle in south Winnipeg early Saturday, police say.

The man was walking east across Pembina Highway, between Plaza Drive and Adamar Road, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle around 4 a.m. Saturday, police previously said.

He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver stayed at the site of the collision to speak with investigators.

The man has since died from his injuries, police said in a news release Sunday. His family has been notified.

It was one of three traffic collisions involving pedestrians that happened Friday evening and early Saturday. A 49-year old woman is dead after she was hit on the Harry Lazarenko Bridge (Redwood Bridge) Friday night and a third man was taken to hospital in critical condition after he was struck while crossing Main Street at Smithfield Avenue Friday night.

The police investigation continues.
