A pedestrian is in unstable condition after being hit by a vehicle Saturday afternoon, Winnipeg police say.

Police spokesperson Const. Claude Chancy said the incident happened around 2 p.m.

The Winnipeg Police Service said on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, that Pembina Highway northbound between Dowker Avenue and Oakenwald Avenue would be closed until further notice just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Police were still on scene around 5 p.m. as well.

The vehicle stayed at the scene, Chancy said.
