Winnipeg police continue to investigate scene of Selkirk Avenue homicide

Winnipeg police are investigating a homicide at a home on Selkirk Avenue.

Police said Tuesday the victim has been identified as 56-year-old Edgar Allan Bear, a member of Peguis First Nation who was living in Winnipeg.

Several units were called to a home in the 1200 block of Selkirk around 4 p.m. Monday, and had maintained a presence at the scene as of Tuesday morning. Police said they officers continue to remain at the scene for further processing.

This marks Winnipeg’s 11th homicide of 2024.

Anyone with information or video surveillance in the area is asked to call the homicide unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
