ST. THERESA POINT, Man. — A charge of second-degree murder has been laid in the weekend death of a northern Manitoba woman.
RCMP say the 35-year-old female was taken to the St. Theresa Point Nursing station early Sunday morning, where she was pronounced dead.
Police say an investigation showed she had allegedly been assaulted.
Police have not released her name.
The accused is also charged with several counts of breach of recognizance and failing to comply with probation.
Jonathan Wood, who is 34, remains in custody.
