CBC’s over-the-air broadcast channels are back on air in Winnipeg after being unavailable due to repair work on a transmission tower Tuesday morning.

Over-the-air television channels in both English and French were unavailable starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

A loose wire, possibly related to recent stormy weather, was discovered last week by crews inspecting the transmission tower atop the Richardson Building in downtown Winnipeg.

A service outage was needed to allow climbers to do their work safely.
