Missing man found dead in Flin Flon, homicide investigation underway: Manitoba RCMP

A man reported missing in Flin Flon last week was found dead, and RCMP say they’re investigating his death as a homicide.

Trevin Steele, 24, was found dead at a home in Flin Flon on Sunday, according to a Wednesday news release.

Steele was last seen in Creighton, Sask., which is just across the provincial border from Flin Flon, on the morning of May 24, RCMP say. He last made contact with family around 3 a.m. earlier that day.

A statement from his family that was included in the news release says Steele was compassionate, well-mannered and protective of his family and close friends.

“The people who were close to him shared a special bond and those people will carry him in their hearts forever,” the statement says.

RCMP previously said officers made extensive patrols around the Flin Flon and Creighton areas in search of Steele.

Anyone with information about his death is asked to contact the Flin Flon RCMP at 204-687-1422, or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
