Police allege illegal cannabis store operated out of house in Flin Flon

A man and woman face numerous charges after RCMP seized thousands of cannabis products and dozens of guns from a northern Manitoba home police say was being used as an illegal store.

More than $430,000 of product was found, including dried cannabis, thousands of individually packaged cannabis gummies, hundreds of cannabis-infused chocolate bars, hundreds of vials of shatter, cannabis extracts, resins and other cannabis derivatives, RCMP said in a news release.

Shatter is a highly potent marijuana derivative. It can look like a sheet of hard toffee or peanut brittle and has a dangerous concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the primary psychoactive in cannabis.

RCMP also seized more than $90,000 in cash, multiple pounds of psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms) and 25 guns.

The house was searched on April 30. Police issued the news release about the bust on June 6.

A 42-year-old man and 23-year-old woman have a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 1, to face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, numerous offences under the Firearms Act and offences under the Cannabis Act.

More than a dozen rifles and other guns are on display, on the floor, next to a table filled with bags and containers of illegal cannabis products.
