The need to conserve water in two southern Manitoba communities has ended and residents can resume normal water use.

Water conservation efforts in Winkler and Morden started on Canada Day, when downpours overwhelmed their water systems’ pumping stations.

Residents were asked to restrict water use to essential needs on July 1 and 2 to prevent sewer backup.

The city of Winkler is about 100 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg and the town of Morden is 10 kilometres west of Winkler.
